Home of the 2018, 2023 and 2024 AAIS Semifinalists

In 2024 with a balance of young and exciting talent, guided by seasoned veterans, the Sabers built upon their post-COVID foundation, playing their best lacrosse in the month of May, advancing to the AAIS Semifinal for the second consecutive season.

The team’s exceptional late season play stemmed from balance throughout the line-up and a “defense first” identity that led to exciting transitional play.

In 2022 the Sabers returned to the field after two seasons away due to COVID and the youthful team did not disappoint.  With strong performances in both non-league and league contests, Spence marked their return to the AAIS Quarterfinals.

In 2019, the Sabers opened the season with back-to-back victories, netting a program milestone with the Sabers’ first 100 career goal scorer etching her name into the record book. In 2018, the Sabers had their most successful season in program history, garnering the most wins in a season, a program-best AAIS regular season record, and advancing to the AAIS Varsity Lacrosse Semifinal for the first time. Varsity Lacrosse plays a challenging and competitive regular-season league schedule in the AAIS, designed to prepare the team for an exciting postseason tournament. The Sabers have established themselves as a highly competitive program in just their ninth year of existence. A focus on individual skill development will continue throughout preseason to prepare student-athletes to employ advanced game strategy.

Practice will be at Randall’s Island, Riverbank State Park and Asphalt Green. As is the case with all Spence varsity teams, lacrosse is a Monday-through-Friday commitment. Home games are most often played at Asphalt Green. Athletes are required to supply their own sticks and goggles, and to wear sport-appropriate footwear (molded cleats or turf shoes).
