Grades 5-6 swimming will build student skills a variety of strokes and distances, and will focus on developing swimming mechanics and team building. This is not a learn to swim team and students must be able to swim a minimum of 50 yards freestyle, unaided.

Students will incorporate their skills into the team meet setting and swim different events to build their exposure to swim competition. The team practices 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. Monday and Friday at the Hostos Community College Pool.

Athletes are required to supply their own swimsuits and goggles for practice, they will be provided a towel and a team swim cap, which they are required to wear.

After practice, students are picked up at Spence 91. Please see the team’s game schedule for return/pick-up time on meet days.
