In 2025, the Sabers XC Team had the most successful season in program history, for the second consecutive year winning both the AAIS and NYSAIS Team Championships and securing their 2nd TEAM appearance in the NYS Federation Cross Country Championship.  The Sabers roared to a top 10 finish in the state, across all public, private, catholic and independent schools in the Federation Championship on their way to earning the program’s 2nd consecutive NIKE NXR All-Region team honor for the overall performance of their top 7 runners.  

In 2023 the youthful Sabers raced their way to the podium, winning the program's first AAIS Cross Country Championship title.  The pursuit of their first Championship title has been a process built on steady progress. 

 

Practice is Monday through Friday and will most often be held in Central Park, and the team will also train on various other course terrains in preparation for AAIS and NYSAIS races conducted at Van Cortlandt Park. Athletes are required to run in proper running shoes
