In 2025, the Sabers will look to continue their strong tradition of success in league play and return to the AAIS championship, which they captured in 2013 and 2014 and finished as league runner-up in 2015, 2016 and 2017 and 2018. In 2013, Spence finished the season a remarkable 21-0, capturing a trifecta of titles: AAIS regular season champion, AAIS tournament champion and NYSAIS champions. 

 

Spence won the 2008, 2009 and 2013 NYSAIS state championships, advanced to the state quarterfinal in 2011 and 2015, and advanced to the state semis in 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018. The incredibly challenging AAIS schedule prepares the Sabers, a perennial powerhouse, for an exceptionally competitive AAIS postseason tournament.

          

The team practices Monday through Friday and plays its home matches at the state-of-the-art 400+ seat Gymnasium on the Spence campus at 412 East 90th Street. Athletes are required to supply their own knee pads and to wear court shoes.
