More than 20 Spence Upper School Students were recognized for their stellar writing and artwork this year by the regional 2024 New York City Scholastic Awards, presented by the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers. There were 14 student winners in the writing category and 11 in the art category. The Scholastic Award program, established in 1923, offers esteemed recognition for young creators. Submissions are judged by highly regarded luminaries in the visual and literary arts industry who seek originality, technical skill and an emergence of personal voice or vision as a part of their review process.
