Beyond academics, Kushner played volleyball, danced and enjoyed working on The Voice while at Spence, all of which she said prepared her for her profession in law. “There’s an emphasis on academics here, but activities, sports and other extracurriculars—pursuing those and learning teamwork and camaraderie along the way helped me be a well-rounded person. I found my voice at Spence. It made me a confident speaker, and that I felt like I had something to say. I learned not to be hesitant about raising my hand and speaking up.”
