Spence Arts and Writing Students Recognized by Scholastic Awards

20 Upper School Students were recognized with a combined total of 53 awards from the 2023 NYC Scholastic Awards this year, presented by the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers. There were nine student winners in the writing category and 11 in the art category. The program, established in 1923, offers esteemed recognition for young creators. Submissions are judged by highly regarded luminaries in the visual and literary arts industry who seek originality, technical skill and an emergence of personal voice or vision as a part of their review process.
