2024-2025 Sabers Athletic Excellence

At the annual Athletics Awards Celebration, students were honored for their many accomplishments. The Sabers’ culture of success comes from more than a decade of sustained program-wide excellence. This school year was no exception. Whether on the court, field, track, or in the pool and gym, the Sabers put in hard work, time commitment, and effort to achieve not only their personal bests, but also bring home eight impressive team championships at the league, state, and national level. Below is a summary of the Saber’s 2024-2025 achievements.
 
Cross Country: AAIS and NYSAIS Champions, Nike All-Region Team Honor and Top 20 Finish at NYS Federation Championship 
All-Stars*: Naomi E. ’27, Ada K. ’27 and Eliana L. ’26
Soccer: NYSAIS Quarterfinals, AAIS Regular Season 2nd place Finish
All-Stars: Mika B. ’27, Sally D. ’29, Olivia P. ’27
Tennis: 4th consecutive undefeated AAIS regular season championship and AAIS Tournament Runner-Up
All-Stars: Milla D. ’25, Lauren K. ’25 and Arden D. ’27
JV Volleyball: AAIS Tournament Runner-Up (1st time in Spence history)

Badminton: AAIS Regular Season Co-Champions (1st time in Spence history)

All-Around Athlete Award: Zoe F. ’25 and Amara S. ’25
The award is presented to senior student-athlete(s) who have exhibited outstanding athletic ability, versatility and excellence throughout their career.

The Adorante Founders' Award: Paige L. ’25
Presented in honor of Ms. Adorante, one of the founders of the Spence Athletic program, to the senior who throughout their multi-sport career as a Spence student-athlete has displayed unwavering commitment, steadfast leadership and has been instrumental in forging a continued tradition of excellence.
 
The Scholar Athlete Award: Hudson F. ’25, Ivy J. ’25, Melissa L. ’25
The award is presented to the senior scholar-athletes who have achieved the highest level of excellence in the classroom as well as the competitive arena while exhibiting integrity and balance in the pursuit of athletic and academic excellence in the classroom, the community and the competitive arena.
 
The White Blazer Award: Naomi B. ’25 and Milla D. ’25
The oldest continuous award presented beginning in 1985. The White Blazer is awarded to a senior student-athlete(s) who demonstrates determination, sportsmanship, cooperation, integrity, dedication, initiative and leadership.
 
The Marilyn Lunnetta Spirit Award: Lili C. ’25 and Olivia D. ’25
The award is presented to the senior(s) who best personifies the qualities of love of competition, selfless sacrifice for the betterment of their team & Spence athletics, and in Ms. Lunnetta’s words, “if kindness leads us, we cannot fail.”
