How to Pay for a Spence Education

Spence has a generous financial aid budget. Aid is determined and renewed on the basis of financial need. Our Financial Aid program is designed to bridge the gap between what a family can pay and what it actually costs to attend Spence.

Requests made after the initial application will only be considered if a family’s circumstances significantly change. In the case of divorced or separated parents, both natural parents must complete the Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) and submit copies of their IRS 1040 Forms to School and Student Services (sss.nais.org). It is expected that both parents will contribute to their daughter’s education. The Financial Aid Committee does not feel bound by the assertion that one parent disclaims responsibility for educational expenses.

Grants are made to students at all grade levels. All grants are renewable each year and are based solely on need. For aid to be continued, new financial papers must be submitted annually.
