    2022 - 2023
    Head Coach: Benjamin Oliner

Home of the AAIS, NYSAIS and US Squash #10 Team in the Nation

The 2019-20 Sabers followed up their 2018-19 season of milestones with an emphatic statement of excellence; a trifecta of titles (AAIS Regular Season and Tournament Championships and NYSAIS Championship) and were selected to participate in Division I of the US Squash HS Team Tournament where the program finished a stunning #10 in the nation. The accolades for the Sabers continued, as they were honored with Spence's 2nd student-athlete selected as US Squash HS All-American in school history.

In 2018-19 the Sabers Squash Team celebrated its 10th year of existence with a banner season, winning the AAIS Tournament Championship, NYSAIS Championship and the Head US Squash Division II High School Team Nationals Championship. The trio of titles included a 20-1 season record, the most wins in the history of the program. In 2017-2018, the Sabers continued to build on a tradition of success finishing as the AAIS Regular Season Co-Champions and finished as AAIS Tournament Runner-up for the third consecutive season. The team advanced to the Division III Consolation Final at the US Squash HS Nationals. In 2016-2017 the Sabers advanced to the Division IV quarterfinal of the US Squash High School Team Nationals, for the second consecutive year. The team’s tradition has been established in rapid fashion since the program’s inception in 2009-2010. In 2014-2015, the team claimed a fourth-place finish at US Squash HS Team Nationals in Division IV. The team finished 2013-2014 as the AAIS tournament runner-up and had its first appearance at US Squash HS Nationals. The team was honored with two members selected as US Squash Scholar-Athletes and one honored with selection to the 2014 US Squash HS All-American Team.

Practices are Monday through Friday at the Sabers brand new 9-court home venue at Spence's new facility at 412 East 90th Street. In addition to the 9 match play courts and team room at 412, the players and coaches will utilize PlaySight technology for skill and match strategy analysis. The program includes on-court and off-court skill development, strength and conditioning and an added emphasis on players developing and learning to employ match strategy. Instruction will include an additional sport-specific emphasis on footwork and agility training. Athletes are required to wear appropriate footwear (court shoes are required for court practices) and to provide their own racquet and protective eyewear.
