Our two-year Fellows program provides mentorship and training for aspiring teachers with a passion for working with middle-school-aged children.
Co-teach four sections of Middle School History
Work closely with a mentor on lesson planning and pedagogy
Serve as Middle School Advisor or Grade 5 Homeroom teacher
Serve on planning teams
Finds joy in working with children and in school life
Approaches work with optimism, energy, kindness, and a sense of humor
Demonstrates cultural competency and skills engaging with and learning from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences
Supports Spence’s commitment to equity
Demonstrated interest in working with children ages 10 to 14
Bachelor’s degree in History or related field of study
Disposition toward learning from and with colleagues about teaching practice
