Bertrande Benoist Archbold '50 Lecture Fund

The Bertrande Benoist Archbold '50 Lecture Fund was established in 1968 to support lectures and the purchase of supplies for the art history department.

Elise T. Bailen Memorial Fund

Eliot Bailen established and named the Elise T. Bailen Memorial Fund in 1979 in honor of his wife to support the activities of the Model UN program and the history curriculum.

The Sloan Lindemann '85 and Roger Barnett Philanthropy Fund

Sloan Lindemann '85 and Roger Barnett established an innovative endowment fund in June 2005 to give graduating seniors at Spence an opportunity to learn about the world of philanthropy. Through a series of seminars, the students will learn about the value of giving back and will be encouraged to become involved as alumnae and members of their communities.

Margaret Scolari Barr Lecture Fund

The Margaret Scolari Barr Lecture Fund was established by the class of 1964 on the occasion of their 25th Reunion. The Fund honors Miss Scolari's 37-year career at Spence as a teacher of Art History and supports a lecture by a prominent art historian each year.

The Hannah Barry '96 Fund

The Hannah Barry '96 Fund was established in her memory in 1984 to instill in Lower School students an enduring love of books and reading.

Cordelia Hepburn Cushman 1913 Fund for Shakespeare

Established by the Cushman family in 2001 to honor their mother Cordelia Hepburn Cushman 1913, this fund is used to support the study of William Shakespeare's works.

Vera Gander Montessori Fund

Harvey Bagg and Martha Coultrap, parents of Charlotte '99 and Emma '04, facilitated the creation of this fund in honor of the Vera Gander Montessori School, which was dissolved in 1992. The fund provides resources and materials for the Lower School mathematics program.

Evelyn G. Haynes Fund

Amanda Haynes-Dale '68 established this fund in memory of her mother's lifelong interests in the arts and classical architecture. The fund is used to purchase equipment and maintain the slide library for the art history department.

Instructional Health/PE Fund

The school's health curriculum and the physical education program are supported through this fund, established in 1994 with gifts from Leonard Holzer and Marsia Trinder-Holzer and Joseph and Lesley Hoopes.

Anne Sophie Laumont '99 Fund

This fund was established in 1998 by Anne Sophie Laumont's parents, family and friends to honor her academic interests and love of learning by supporting an annual lecture in the arts, literature or the sciences.

The General Library Endowment Fund

The school's two libraries are maintained and new books and supplies are purchased through this fund established in 1930 with a grant from the Carnegie Corporation of New York.

Randall's Island Endowment Fund

Gifts to this fund, established in 2005, support the school's long-term initiative to develop and maintain athletic fields on Randall's Island in New York City.

Courtney Steel '87 Visiting Author Program

This fund was established to honor and remember Courtney Steel '87 by her parents, family and friends. Through lectures, which bring a writer of national stature to the school each year, Courtney's passion for literature, gift for writing and respect for the nuances of language continue to inspire Spence students.
